Breaking News !!!

Flu Clinic – Saturday 12th October 2019 - 9am until 10.30am.

We are texting our patients advising of the time to attend.  Do we have your up to date mobile telephone number.  If you do not use a mobile phone please drop in if you are eligible.

Please could I ask that all patients who are due a flu vaccine this year, support their GP Practice. Our clinicians have updates each year; know how to deal with you in an anaphylactic emergency; we have infection control audits each year to ensure our premises are fit for purpose. If you choose to go elsewhere for your flu vaccine, then GPs could be left with fridges full of vaccines that they have already ordered and paid for and that is a big waste of money, not only for the GPs but for the NHS as a whole.

Practice Staff Training Date - Practice Closed on Tuesday 8.10.19 and 5.11.19 from 1.00pm until 6.30pm.  If you have an appointment booked please press the intercom on your arrival.  If you require medical assistance urgently during this time please ring the normal surgery number 0114 2488187 and you will be put through to the out of hours service, or alternatively call 111.

NHS App – now available. Gives you access to online symptom checker (NHS Website A-Z) and also access to your practices online services which you already use. Download the NHS app from your App Store. Visit https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-app/ to find out more. have infection control audits each year to make sure our premises are fit for purpose. Online Services - To be able to make and cancel appointments online, and request repeat medication online, please bring your ID to reception to obtain your password and instructions.  If we know you well we may be able to vouch for your identity, and register you without ID.

Can't get a convenient appointment: We may have appointments available at our hubs on evenings and weekends, please contact Reception.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel please collect a holiday form from reception for each person travelling.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.  Hand it back into Reception when completed and nurse will contact you regarding any immunisations you may need.

If your holiday is less than four weeks away please call at the surgery to complete a holiday form (making the receptionist aware of your departure date).  If a holiday form is filled in on line with a departure of less than four weeks we cannot guarantee a nurse appointment for your travel vaccinations to be given.

Information about countries and vaccinations required can be found on the links below:

It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travelto allow the vaccines to work.
